FAQ

Good to Know

The desert asks very little of you once you arrive, but a few answers before you set out make the stay easier. Here are the questions we hear most often by the fire.

How do I get to the camp?

We are in the palm village of M’hamid, at the edge of the great dune field, about an hour’s drive south of Zagora. From Zagora we will arrange a driver to collect you; from Marrakech you can fly or take the night bus to Zagora, and we take it from there. We send full directions once your stay is confirmed.

When is the best time to visit?

Most guests come between October and April, when days are warm and clear and nights turn cool under a vast sky. Summer brings intense heat and is quieter; many who love it never leave. The stars, frankly, are magnificent in every season.

What is included in the nightly rate?

Your room, breakfast and dinner in the garden restaurant, and the camp’s own mint tea whenever you ask. A night at the dune bivouac, guided walks, and transfers are arranged separately, and we will help you plan them before you arrive.

Is there electricity and wifi?

The camp runs on solar power, so there is light and a place to charge your phone — at the common table, not in every room. Wifi is gentle and shared, perfect for a quick check-in and not much more. We would be lying if we said the desert had fast internet. That is rather the point.

Can I sleep a night out at the bivouac?

Yes. A short drive into the dunes brings you to our low nomad tents, a fire, and nothing but sand and silence. Dinner is cooked over the coals and you sleep under the open sky. It is the quietest night you will ever spend — tell us when you book and we will keep it for you.

What about meals and dietary needs?

Everything is cooked fresh in our kitchen — tagines, garden salads, bread from the morning oven. Tell us about allergies, vegetarian or vegan needs, or anything else, and the table will be set for you before you sit down.

How do bookings and cancellations work?

Bookings are confirmed by a short conversation with us — usually over WhatsApp — and a small deposit. You can change or cancel your dates free of charge up to seven days before arrival. We would rather you reschedule than miss out.
